Insanity
It was just a normal day in the calm city of Mirkwood, Godheen was still resting in the bed. She had nothing to worry about, since noting was going to happen. It was 2 PM, and still everyone in Mirkwood was asleep. Calm, silent and asleep. Except for Godhon, he was awake for hours, for days now. His mind had driven him crazy. His whole body was twitching and hurting, his eyes were red.
Godheen was waking up slowly, she yawned loudly and rubbed her eyes. She pulled the blanket aside to notice that her brother wasn't there, where could he be? She stood up slowly, her tired feet where seeking their way around. Maybe her brother has written something. Something that tells her where he is? She sat down on the chair, in front of the desk. Seeking trough the different drawers, she eventually found a note that didn't seem to be there before. She opened the knittered piece of paper and noticed there was something written. In Blood.

Minutes of hesitating have passed for Godheen, before she decided to seek him. She knew her brother well, she knew where he was hiding as a child when he felt sad. The old hideout of the Grey Crowd, on the road to the ship station to Ionia. Godheen quickly sattled up Epona, her brothers horse, and rode down the lonely road. Everyone else was still asleep.
She opened the secret door hidden in the dirt wall, she still remembered the right code to open the door. For the first time in twenty years she placed a foot in the hideout again. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. Everything was just like twenty years ago, every paper at the same spot, every beer jug in the same spot. Every corn of dust, in the same spot. Was it already too late?
Godheen didn't think so. She was sure her brother was somewhere hiding in the hideout. Seeking trough all the dusty papers, messing up the whole place even more, she remembered something: The secret room. "Plase let him be in there", Godheen squeaked to herself. "Please god, please." More tears were running down her eyes.
She sprinted down the stairs and pulled the door open violently. Twisted feelings were crossing her mind as she saw what was in front of her. It was her brother, Godhon. Simply sitting in a chair, with his elbows pressed against his knees, his hands supporting his head to stay up. In one of his hands, he had a bottle of rum. Godheen remained in the doorframe as she saw his brother like that. The look made her shiver. She screamed. "What are you.. what are you doing down here?! You idiot, you can't just run away!" A puddle of tears built up in front of her.
Godhon looked up as he heard the doorslam and the scream just some meters in front, he recognized his sister, just standing in front of her. He raised one of his hands, making a signal to her sister to come over. "Sweet sister, what a pleasure to see you once again. Do me a favor, please. Come here and take a seat."
Suddendly everything was getting calmer for Godheen. How could her brother be so silent as she was shouting to him? What kind of phase must he have been in to stay so calm? She walked over to him, and slowly sat down on the ground, next to her brother. She cried. She cried a lot. "Do you want to spend my last minutes with me?", he asked. "You're an idiot, just like before.", she answered.
Godhon moved down his bottled hand to Godheen, he handed her the bottle of rum. He made her drink a little, and he made her drink a little more. There was a little smile on Godhons face as he looked down to his sister, but she remainded crying and drinking. "How can you do that to me?", Godheen sobbed. - "Don't ask any question, it will be better for you."
After a while Godheen threw the empty bottle against the wall, it shattered into thousands of pieces of brown glass. Her face was buried under her arms, pressing against her legs. She was curled up, crying. "I read it.", she said. "I read everything."
"Then it will be no surprise for you, sister.", Godhon said. He pulled out a hand of pills out of his pocket. "It's time."
Godheen stood up suddendly, her face wet by the tears. She stood in front of Godhon and slapped him across his face. "You're crazy!"
"Do you know.. what insanity is?", Godhon smiled.
Godheen took a step backwards and fell down from all the emotions in her body, she couldn't believe what her brother was saying. She looked up to him and saw the pills running down his troath. Seconds later, his upper body fell down on his seat, leaned backwards. The smile remained on his dead face.
Godheen kept crying and was unable to stand up. She punched the ground many times, screaming loudly. Her face hurt, her belly hurt. Her heart hurt.
Minutes later she felt herself getting stronger again. She could barely stand up, and that's what she did. She moved closer to the dead, smiling body. She caressed his cheek. "You're and idot...", she sobbed. She leaned forward and puckered her lips. Then she gave her brother the last kiss he will ever have. The last kiss she will ever have. "Good night, brother.", she whispered. A last tear ran down her face, it dropped down from her chin. It landed on Godhons chest, directly on the grey star of his uniform, where is heart was located.
